The days are getting shorter and it’s taking longer to get out of bed in the morning. Outside, the leaves are exploding into vibrant shades of mustards, ambers and russets. Inside, all you want to do is curl up in front of the TV and hibernate until spring.
Yes, autumn has arrived and the blustery season is upon us. Zoflora is ideal for this time of year due to the many home hygiene issues that come about as a result of everything that autumn brings indoors with it.
What with the walks in the woods, kicking leaves and standing in muddy fields watching fireworks, it’s important to disinfect your shoe rack and hoover the hall to rid it of bacteria and errant leaves. Pets spend much more time inside too so unless they’re exceptionally well trained to wipe their feet, ensure you regularly mop and disinfect areas they’ve wet or muddied up. Remember to keep them inside around Bonfire Night too for their own safety.
With blustery days come leaves, leaves and more leaves. Wet leaves on paths and driveways can become very slippery so ensure you clear them regularly to prevent any injury. Check your gutter to ensure it’s leaf-free, as trapped water can cause damage to your roof and walls. Ditto with your drain – the last thing you want to be doing is unblocking a drain in the driving rain! Disinfect it from time to time too to see off any nasty smells.
Finally, given that you’ll be indoors for the next few months, now’s the time to make things as clean, cosy and comfortable as possible. If you’ve the time, de-clutter and tidy the house or at the very least give it a mighty good clean – you’ll certainly be glad of it when the winter lethargy kicks in!
