To-scrub list

  1. Ready, Steady, Scrub! - What with all the bubbling pans, splattery blenders and sticky fingers, our kitchens see their fair share of daily action. Along with the culinary feasts, they play host to more than a little grease and grime, making them the first port of call for a spring clean.

    Spic and Span Plan…

    • Check expiry date on medicines
    • Wash curtains and bath mats, adding a couple of drops of Zoflora to the final rinse
    • Start with white goods: clean and disinfect fridge, defrost freezer, clean oven and microwave.
    • Clean and disinfect shelves.
    • Throw out anything past its sell-by-date, then clean out and disinfect cupboards and drawers.
    • Clean and disinfect all fans and filters
    • Clean small appliances (kettle, toaster, blenders, mixers, smoothie makers, etc)
    • Wash and disinfect walls and tiles
    • Clean windows
    • Pull out and clean underneath fridge
    • Finally, sweep all the bits up and mop and disinfect floor
  2. Clean the life back into your living room - Quite aside from the dust attracted by the TV and the pesky mites living deep in our rugs and carpets, our sofas are the soft furnishing equivalent of a black hole: great, yawning chasms that suck in everything from loose change and the elusive remote control to half-eaten biscuits, hair clips and leaky pens. Add a few winter months worth of TV dinners into the equation and you’ve got a full-blown crumb-crisis on your hands.

    Spic and Span Plan…

    • Dust ornaments and lamps
    • Dust books and shelves
    • Dust TV, stereo, entertainment unit
    • Vacuum the covers and down the sides of sofas and chairs
    • Pull out sofas and chairs and vacuum underneath
    • Clean carpet and rug / mop and disinfect floorboards
