Zoflora bloggers at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show
Zoflora's 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' Show garden dedicated to Yorkshire was revealed at this Summer’s RHS Hampton Court Flower Show.
Zoflora enlisted the creativity and skills from renowned garden designer Helen Elks-Smith, who incorporated key elements that the county is famous for within the space.
Taking inspiration from Yorkshire’s rolling countryside, Zoflora’s ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ garden has been sculpted to form gentle undulations, reflecting the landscape of the county’s hills and dales.
A stream gently flows through the garden and under a stone bridge, softly meandering through distinctive sections of the garden, incorporating a ‘field boundary’ to represent arable crops, a wildflower meadow and ‘woodland’.
A curved drystone wall forms a terrace and seating area, with a weathered steel set into the walls which appears to have fractured the stone, representing powerful tree roots. The area is enclosed by a moat, and brightly coloured fragrant plants, creating a tranquil place from which to view the rest of garden.
Zoflora also revealed a brand new fragrance at the show dedicated to Yorkshire: Green Valley. The scent is a fresh and delicate floral fragrance reminiscent to the county’s meadows and valleys, boasting elements of crisp green leaves and a clean ozonic note, followed by a bouquet of wild flowers including mountain pansy and buttercup.
Senior brand manager at Zoflora, Sarah Fozzard, said: “Sponsoring a garden at Hampton Court is a great alignment for the brand, as the fragrances within the product range are expertly crafted to represent scents found within natural surroundings.”
“Using Yorkshire as a theme for the garden was a natural choice for us, as we’re very proud of our heritage. Helen’s design is really striking and attempts to encompass the key elements that make large parts of Yorkshire designated ‘Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty'.”
As part of the exclusive press day on the 4th July, we invited three wonderful bloggers; Growing Family UK, Birds and Lilies and ItsMostlyOk to join us at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show to share in the unveiling of the Zoflora 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' garden but also to get to meet the lovely Lucy-Jo Hudson who appeared in the garden on press day, with a costume designed by the University of Huddersfield costume students.
This is what the bloggers thought of the day:
Growing Family UK: "I had such a great day with Zoflora at Hampton Court Flower Show, and I absolutely love their ‘Outstanding Natural Beauty’ garden. My first impression of the garden was simply ‘wow’; it literally stopped me in my tracks. It has so much character, the planting is beautiful, and the fact that it’s inspired by nature makes it a very calming space too. I love the little terrace; it’s the perfect sheltered spot for enjoying the rest of the garden.
I got completely carried-away by the plants; there’s so much texture, colour and attention to detail, creating the overall effect of being right in the middle of nature. I also find the way Helen Elks-Smith has incorporated plants that give year-round interest really inspiring, as this is something I’m trying to achieve in my own garden. Seeing the three fabulous costumes brought to life on the garden was so much fun too. All in all it was a fantastic day out, with a real atmosphere of celebration after months of hard work. I’m not at all surprised that the garden won a very well-deserved Gold medal!"

Birds and Lilies: "I was very excited to be able to attend the Hampton Court Flower Show with Zoflora. The show garden, designed by Helen-Elks Smith and titled 'Outstanding National Beauty', really was beautiful. I loved how the garden was inspired by the Yorkshire countryside and how the different aspects of Yorkshire, such as the rolling landscape and the weathered stone, were brought into the design.
It was great to see the very lovely and proud Yorkshire girl, Lucy-Jo Hudson working with Zoflora, and wearing the amazing costume designed by students from the University of Huddersfield. The dress was inspired by the garden and Zoflora's new fragrance 'Green Valley', which smells so lovely and fresh.
I was so happy to hear that the 'Outstanding Natural Beauty' garden won a gold medal as well as the best construction award, and it was amazing to be a part of the excitement on the day. I had such a lovely time enjoying the garden in the sunshine, so thanks Zoflora for inviting me to be a part of the day!"
