Calling all Manchester Dogs’ Home Supporters....
Join Zoflora in Freshening up Manchester Dogs Home for its Grand Re-Opening

Manchester Dogs’ Home and Zoflora, are calling out for dog lovers to join them for a “Big Clean Up” on Wednesday 4th November, following the one-year anniversary of the disaster that struck the facility.

To celebrate the opening of the Manchester Dogs’ Home new Temporary Adoption Centre, Zoflora is facilitating an event to ensure the centre is scrubbed out, and hygienically cleaned, to ensure the dogs can enjoy a fresh, healthy environment before meeting their new owners. And they are now looking for people to join them on this significant day.

Steve Mapley, Home Manager stated “to have support from a major brand like Zoflora is great, the day will give us a chance to get everything clean and ready for the first dogs to go into the temporary centre and from there get these dogs into their forever homes.”

On 11 September 2014, an arsonist attack burnt a whole block of kennels to the ground tragically killing 58 dogs.

The devastation which struck the Harpurhey home saw a nationwide campaign emerge, in which significant funds were raised to support the rehabilitation of the centre.

A total of £1.4m was donated by the general public, which will go towards developing a new adoption block for the animals.

Zoflora and Manchester Dogs’ Home are now calling on all of its supporters, to come forward and volunteer to be a part of the team which will go in to clean the new centre in time for its opening to the public.

As a thank you, Zoflora will be providing a hearty picnic lunch, campaign T-shirts and product packed goody bags to those who give their time on the day.
